Blackhawks lose last-second heartbreaker

Clarkston wins 24-21 on field goal with .9 seconds to play

It was a heartbreaking Homecoming game for the Cheney Blackhawks when the visiting Clarkston Bantams kicked a field goal to with .9 seconds left to win 24-21.

"After a good week of practice, we executed well," head coach Bobby Byrd said. "We as a group just need to come together and work harder. With all the circumstances, we just haven't been able to gel and this game showed us the potential of what could happen as a team."

With the loss, the Blackhawks fall to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the GreatNorthern League. Clarkston improves to 4-2 with a 1-1 GNL record.
