Graeme Webster

Graeme Webster, 73 passed away Sept. 14, 2017. Webster was born March 2, 1944 in Aberdeen Scotland to Alan and Nan Webster.

After coming to the United States, Webster eventually enlisted in the U.S. Marines in January 1964. He also attended the University of Chicago for a brief period of time.

Webster served in Vietnam during the war in various roles, and upon completion of his duties became a military recruiter in 1984. He retired from the Marines in 2000, receiving numerous commendations.

Webster served on the Cheney City Council, being appointed in 2009 and then winning election in 2011. He stepped down from the council at the completion of his term in 2015.

Webster was a fixture in local parades and events, driving his vintage restored U.S. Army Jeep. His hobbies included writing, gardening and reading.

He is survived by his wife Billie Jean Webster, children Allison E. Miqui and Ross Webster, stepchildren Jimmy R. Lemons, Brian L. Lemons and Jason T. Rollins; brother Alan Webster and grandchildren Marina Jenkins, Mary Miqui, Carlie Webster, Justin Rollins, Nick Lemons, Aaron Lemons, Samuel Lemons, Jordan Rollins and Madison Rollins.

He is also survived by his brother, Alan Webster.

Memorial arrangements being made by Cheney Funeral Home. A memorial service and interment is taking place Friday, Sept. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery located on Espanola Road west of Medical Lake
