Blackhawks' girls run to win in Moses Lake Invitational

Cheney varsity, JV boys second in Highlander replacement

Despite the cancellation of the annual Highlander Invitational at Shadle Park due to still smoky conditions, the Cheney High School cross country teams still found a way to make it onto a course for their first competition of the season.

They just had to travel a bit further to do it.

The Blackhawks managed to squeeze in to the Moses Lake Invitational at Blue Heron Park on Saturday, likely to the displeasure of several other teams. The Cheney girls took first in the varsity and junior varsity 5,000-meter races while the boys finished second in both contests.
