Volunteers from around the state came by Cleone's Closet on Sept. 8 to help finish painting at the new location at 13114 W. Sunset Highway in Airway Heights. The new open date is set for Oct. 2.
The opening of the food pantry, Cleone's Closet, in Airway Heights is still underway even though it is opening a little later than expected. Originally it was going to be open Sept. 6 but with the remodeling of the new building located at 13114 Sunset Highway, it is set to open on Oct. 2.
Volunteers arrived on Friday, Sept. 8 to help paint the inside walls. The next steps for the organization are the electricity and plumbing work, the city to approve it and Second Harvest to complete an inspection. The final touches will also be done with decorations and light fixtures throughout the site.
