The Cheney High girls soccer team opened the 2017 season with a 4-1 non-league loss at Mount Spokane of the Great Spokane League’s 3A classification.

Kaitlin Teeters answered an early Wildcat goal with a score off an assist from Lelie Holland in the 28th minute. Mount Spokane freshman Ellie Johnson scored the first of her two goals two minutes later for a 2-1 halftime lead.

Allie Lafferty’s solo goal in two minutes into the second half made it 3-1 and Johnson added her second goal later.
