Jacob Whiteley, a 2015 Cheney High School graduate, was sworn into the Air National Guard last week on Aug. 17. It was a special occasion as his dad, James Whiteley, was the one to do the honors. Jacob will go to basic in about a month in San Antonio, Texas for eight weeks then heads to Port Hueneme in California for technical school in vehicle maintenance. After his training, he plans on continuing his education at Washington State University in the ROTC program....
