CHS football hosts first annual black, red scrimmage

The Friday, Aug. 25 event is under the lights at Tom Oswald Field determine

Cheney will takes its football practice under the lights on Aug. 25 for a first-ever tailgate-style scrimmage. A number of family-friendly activities are planned for the evening.

Football season is quickly approaching for the Cheney High School Blackhawks – and it begins with a new event this year named the "Black and Red Scrimmage" on Friday, Aug. 25.

"Our goal as a staff is to have an event trying to create community," head coach Bobby Byrd said. "We are trying to get more support in Cheney High School athletics and show the good stuff that is going on here."
