CHENEY

July 24

Officers responded to a call of domestic violence on the 1000 block of West First Street for a verbal dispute.

Officers investigated a call for an illegal burn on the Zero hundred block of West Fifth

Trespassing was reported on the 700 block of Cedar Street.

July 25

Police served an arrest warrant on the 2300 block of University Lane. Kayla A.M. Harding 27 was arrested on an active warrant from Spokane for theft.

Third degree theft was reported on the 700 block of Fourth Street, a bicycle was taken.

Police responded to a call of an attempted suicide on the 700 block of Cedar Street, individual was involuntarily committed.

Domestic violence was reported on the 300 block of Erie Street, verbal dispute.

July 26

Fourth degree assault was reported on the 400 block of First Street.

Third degree theft was reported on the 2200 block of First Street, bicycle was taken.

Third degree theft was reported on the 700 block of Chestnut Street a couple of packs of cigarettes were taken.

Arrest warrants were served on the 300 block of West Third. Forrest R. Saunders 35 was taken in to custody on a DOC warrant from Olympia for possession of Opium and assault in the Fourth degree, domestic violence from Spokane

Theft of a motor vehicle was reported on the 500 block of K Street. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Cheney police assisted in the evacuation of Safeway after a Freon leak was detected and store patrons needed to leave to avoid being harmed.

Police were contacted for an attempted suicide on the 1200 block of First Street. The person was voluntarily committed.

Police arrested Scott A. Schmidt 24 on 1100 First Street for Third degree DWLS.

Agency assist on the 300 block of Erie Street, Adult Protective Services asked for a welfare check on an individual.

July 27

Bomb threat was reported at 100 Sixth Street. A suspicious package was found in the Gazebo at Sutton park. The bomb squad disabled the package with a robot from Spokane. The evidence was gathered up by the Spokane bomb squad. The investigation is ongoing.

July 28

Police towed an abandoned vehicle on the 700 block of Osprey Lane. A tan Buick LeSabre was removed.

Police towed an abandoned vehicle on the 100 block of Walker. A green Ford Focus was removed.

Second degree theft was reported on the 200 block of Gregory Place. Cash was missing from the residence.

Police served an Arrest warrant on the 700 block of West First Street, Theresa R. Byrd 47 was arrested on a failure to appear for Driving While License Suspended warrant out of Spokane county.

July 29

Fourth degree assault was reported on the 100 block of Washington Street.

Found property was turned into the police station. Numerous street signs were turned after they were found lying on the ground.

An arrest warrant was served at the 100 West First Street. A Bench warrant was filled when a 15 year old female was taken into custody as a runaway.

Second degree theft was reported on the 1000 block of West First Street. A cellphone and money were missing.

July 30

An arrest warrant was served on the 2700 block of First Street. Desean M. Weeks 18 was taken into custody for a warrant for Fourth degree assault from Spokane County.

July 31

An arrest warrant was served on the 100 block of North Ninth. Arrested was Shandi L. Rathbun 27 for driving while license suspended and operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device out of Spokane County.

NOTE: Police reports from both Airway Heights and Medical Lake were unavailable this week.
