There was a groundbreaking ceremony for the new $275 million, 350-room Northern Quest Resort and Casino in Airway Heights. Work on the 660,000-square-foot, nine-story hotel, casino and spa would not start until the fall.
After 12 years of battling the city of Cheney and the courts, Myers Mobile Home Park owner Thomas Myers closed down the 44-unit development on State Route 904 in Cheney.
Mandi Poindexter was hired by Medical Lake School District as the newest principal of Michael Anderson Elementary School located on Fairchild Air Force Base.
