Hallett announces September winners

Hallett Elementary School announced its award winners for September.

Medical Lake High Students of the Month

Medical Lake High School released the names of its students of the month for September: John Greer, Joshua Whitcher, Edwin Green, Austin Jasmer, Connor Hart, Joey Jasmer, Tanner Henry, Heather Barr, Devin Guelfo, Jayda Noble, Raylene Harris, Alanna Fisk and Megan Cargle.

Mobile Food Bank to stop at CHS, Windsor

Second Harvest’s Mobile Food Bank will be making stops at Windsor Elementary School, Oct. 24 from 4:30-6 p.m. and Cheney High School, Nov. 1 from 2:30-4 p.m.

Those who attend will receive a free box of fresh and non-perishable food items.

No identification is necessary and parents are encouraged to attend. Patrons are asked to bring their own box or tote bag.

Betz Elementary to host STEM night

Betz Elementary School is hosting a STEM (science, engineering, technology and mathematics) night for local families, Nov. 1 from 6-7 p.m.

Families who attend will get to test their engineering skills with Keva planks, build with straws and connectors, experiment with electricity making circuits that light up and spin, and test how weight effects the flight of a helicopter.

The event is sponsored by Cheney Public Schools, Spokane County Library District and Spokane County Communities in Schools.
