The Caterpillar tractor parts distribution center that sits adjacent to Interstate 90 near the Medical Lake exit will have a neighbor of sorts in the business.

According to information provided by Greater Spokane Incorporated, Keystone Automotive Operations, Inc., an Exeter, Penn., corporation, has been building a large distribution warehouse just east of Caterpillar.

The 250,000-square-foot facility will employ approximately 60 employees who will be responsible for inbound and outbound freight activities.

The new warehouse is being built by Garco Construction  and scheduled for completion before the end of 2015.

Keystone is the leading distributor and marketer of aftermarket automotive equipment and accessories in North America.

Keystone’s parent company, LKQ, based in Chicago, is a Fortune 500 company with worldwide distribution.

Negotiations to bring Keystone to Spokane began in September 2014 according to GSI, which helped work on incentives to locate here.

Caterpillar opened its 500,000 square-foot warehouse in January 2013.
