Feed Cheney May meal

Feed Cheney will be a week early this month because of Memorial Day. The free hot dinner served family style by volunteers, groceries and entertainment will take place Monday, May 18, at Wren Pierson Community Center, 615 Fourth St. from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. All are welcome and no paperwork is required. 

Feed Cheney is a coalition of Women and Children’s Free Restaurant, 2nd Harvest Food Bank, several Cheney churches and Cheney Parks and Recreation.  For more information, or to volunteer, visit feedcheney.com or write to feedcheney@gmail.com or phone 235-9250.

Cheney Memorial Day service

The Cheney Cemetery Association is sponsoring the annual Memorial Day Program at Fairview Cemetery. The program begins at 11:15 a.m. Monday, May 25.

Due to lack of a facility, the annual pancake breakfast and march to the cemetery will not be held this year. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet at the cemetery along with the Cheney Cub Scouts, VFW Rifle Squad, Eastern Washington University ROTC, Cheney High School Music Department and other community members for this patriotic program honoring those who gave their lives for freedom.

Donations are appreciated at the program, and are used for improvements at Cheney’s cemeteries.

ML Memorial Day service

The Medical Lake Cemetery Association invites the community to a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25 at 9:30 a.m. The cemetery is located at 21419 W. Thorpe Road, off of Brooks Road. Please contact Janice Radmer at 299-5269 for more information.

Summer brown bag meals

In June, July and August, Feed Cheney will include groceries from 2nd Harvest and a brown bag supper provided by three Cheney churches every fourth Monday in Veterans Park, across Fourth Street from the Wren Pierson Community Center.
