Donald Lee Shea

Donald Lee Shea, born Oct. 19, 1938 passed away on March 19, following a prolonged battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) at his winter home in Tucson, Ariz.

Don is survived by his wife Mary Buntrock Shea, his son Patrick Shea, Cheney; daughters Gina Jackson, Cheney, Lia Talvi, Wasilla, Alaska.; brother Robert Shea, Cheney; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Don attended Northwest Nazarene University and Eastern Washington University.  

Don had a successful insurance business in Cheney.

He was extremely active in the community and rose to the position of lieutenant governor in Kiwanis.

He earned the George T. Hixon award in September 1996.

Don also was honorably discharged from the National Guard and received the honorary veterans award for his military service to America and for advancing the universal hope of freedom and liberty for all.

He loved international travel and to touring the U.S. in his motor coach. The many friends made throughout his life will truly miss him. Be with God.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 29, 11 a.m. at the Cheney Nazarene Church.
