Cheney School District carpenter Gary Albrecht receives applause from school board members and district staff upon being named the district’s Classified Employee of the Year at last Wednesday’s board meeting. Albrecht has worked for the Cheney district since December 1987, and was recognized not only for his tenure and professional work ethic but also his skill in creating such pieces as storage cabinets for the high school art room and for portables at Windsor Elementary School.
