West Plains’ Zak Designs gallery trays chosen as finalist for Housewares Design Award

West Plains’ manufacturer Zak Designs’ non-skid Gallery Trays have been chosen as a finalist in the Tableware, Serveware & Beverageware category of the 2013 Housewares Design Awards.

In keeping with Zak Designs’ ongoing mission to blend fashion and function together in all of its products, the surface of the Non-Skid Gallery Trays creates a checkered design that adds to the aesthetics of the tray as well as the practicality. The criss-cross pattern is made of a no-slip material that is also heat and moisture resistant, so even hot dishes or dripping glasses will stay securely in place. And, like the standard Gallery Trays, the new non-skid trays are designed to be used either separately or in conjunction with both the full tray and the small tray to create a variety of serveware options for nearly any type of get together.

The new non-skid surface is featured on a red and a white rectangle half-tray and a round white tray. For even more serving options, Zak also introduced a line of clear non-skid Gallery Trays with brightly colored non-slip checkered patterns.

“It’s always extremely rewarding for us to design a product that we know our customers are going to be happy with for years to come because it helps make their parties or their meals a little easier,” said Irv Zakheim, President and CEO of Zak Designs. “But to have that product recognized as a finalist for the Housewares Design Awards makes it all the more special. We are truly honored.”

An independent panel of judges selected the non-skid Gallery Tray as a finalist based on its superior design, appearance, function, and originality. The “Best of the Best” Awards will be given to the best housewares products of the year at the Gold, Silver and Bronze levels and will be announced January 29 at the New York Marriott Marquis.
