A Cheney man was injured Monday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle near Dayton Road on SR 904 west of Cheney.

According to the Washington State Patrol collision report, Bret C. Talbott, 54, of Cheney was riding his 2003 Suzuki LS650P motorcycle west on SR 904 towards Tyler when he was struck by a 1991 Subaru four-door sedan driven by Charlie L. Weber, 18, of Wilbur, Wash. Weber was exiting a private driveway and turned left, heading east, striking Talbot on the right side and forcing the motorcycle over onto its side and into a skid.

Talbott was airlifted by MedStar helicopter to Sacred Heart Medical Center. The WSP report noted he was wearing a helmet.

Sacred Heart officials contacted Tuesday afternoon said Talbott was in serious condition with undisclosed injuries.

The cause of the accident was listed as inattention. Weber was cited for failure to yield.
