Waves come away from Triple Pentathlon meet with numerous bests

Fifteen swimmers from Cheney attended the 2011 Waves Triple Pentathlon Swim Meet at Whitworth University April 15-17. As members of the Spokane Cheney Waves, this was a home meet.

“Ninety-nine Waves swimmers competed, stopping the clock with an amazing 365 best times and 80 first time swims,” Waves head coach Kevin Wang said.

The Triple Pentathlon has a different format than traditional swim meets. To be eligible for a pentathlon award, swimmers have to complete all five events each day. Medals are given in each age group for first through sixth place accumulated...
