    Eastern Washington University soccer player Kelsee Winston’s collegiate career is off to a solid start, as she was named the Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 22 following the opening weekend of play.     Mauldin joins EWU women’s basketball staff Eastern Washington University head women’s basketball coach Wendy Schuller announced the addition of assistant coach Danielle Mauldin to her staff Aug. 17.     The Eastern Washington University soccer team used home field to their full advantage, sweeping a pair of nonconference matches last weekend. In their Sept. 18 opener the Eagles scored a 5-1 win over the University of Nebraska at Omaha. They followed that two days later with a 1-0 decision over the University of South Dakota.     FROM NEWS SERVICE REPORTS The renewed basketball rivalry between Eastern Washington University and the University of Idaho will include a pair of Big Sky Conference doubleheaders in the 2017-18 season. All four teams involved advanced to national postseason tournaments a year ago.
