    Paul Delaney, Staff Reporter|Updated Mar 29, 2018

If it wasn’t the weather, it was the opponent that was not very cooperative last week when it came to Medical Lake softball. The Cardinals (0-2 NEA, 1-3 overall) were humbled in a pair on Northeast A League outings falling 13-0 to perennial power, Colville on March 20 and 15-4 at Deer Park March 26 in the completion of a game that was weather-delayed from March 22. “We played Tuesday up in Colville and that wasn’t a very good day,” head coach Tim Blakely said. The Indians got...

In fact, the last time Cheney beat the Knights — 2008 — both schools were in a different league: the Greater Spokane League. But come up on top the Blackhawks did last Wednesday, winning 11 of 17 events — claiming at least the top three spots in four of them — to down the host Knights 86-59 in the first GNL meet of the season for both schools. “Lost by one last year,” thir...
