    Cheney High’s girls basketball team found the holiday break from school to be a little therapeutic. The Lady Blackhawks won three of their four games, starting with a pair of wins at the Eagle Holiday Classic at West Valley High School, Dec. 27-29. Cheney had four players in double-figure scoring in their Classic opener against Northeast A League Newport (1-9, 0-4) in Millwood, opening a 37-23 halftime lead and cruising to a 67-39 win over the Grizzlies.     The Medical Lake Cardinal wrestling crew laid-out Freeman in Northeast A league grappling action on Thursday, Jan. 4, hitting the road to beat the Scotties on their home mat 40-36. The Cards had one pin, scored two decisions, and one major decision, to overcome the six pins made by Freeman wrestlers. Four forfeits by the Scotties also helped bring home the win.     The Cheney Blackhawks varsity wrestling team kicked off the year with two solid performances in a row, earning fourth place at the Freeman Invite Dec. 29 and bumping their tournament score up to second place against Reardan Jan. 5.
