After months of negotiations and more than 25 meetings, the Cheney School District and its teachers’ union avoided a strike and reached a tentative deal on a new collective bargaining agreement on Monday, Sept. 10.
The Cheney Education Association will meet with its members to ratify the contract on Monday, Sept. 17 at 6:15 p.m. at Cheney High School. If approved, the agreement will be taken to the school board on Sept. 19.
