Mary Ellen Wendtlandt Camp, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2018.

Mary Ellen was born Sept. 1, 1929 in Spokane, Wash. to Herbert A. and Mary Ellen (Halverson) Wendtlandt. She graduated from Reardan High School in 1947. In 1948, she married Richard (Dick) Gordon Camp of Spangle, Wash. and lived on their farm for almost 70 years.

She was involved with the Cheney United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 40 years. Mary Ellen was also a member of the Inland Empire Dairy Wives, an East Cheney 4H Leader for 21 years, a member of the Cheney PTA and a Betz Elementary Homeroom mother. Mary Ellen also worked for the Cheney School District for 25 years. She and Dick ran their registered Golden Guernsey dairy farm, Marydick, on Cheney-Spangle Road for 38 years.

Mary Ellen enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, creating handwork projects, cooking, baking, and hosting family parties.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dick Camp; her children Carolyn Camp Dyer, Allen (Al) Dyer and Janet Camp Satchwell; grandchildren Carlin Dyer (Almee) and Andrea Dyer; great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Hailey Somogyi, Kyleigh and Kale Dyer, Jaydan Glanzer; sister Marian Dole, brother-in-law Jim Ryan. She leaves behind many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
