OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), in cooperation with partnering agencies, is implementing the following changes in burn restrictions on DNR-protected lands. Check with local jurisdictions for additional restrictions.

Effective July 6, rule burning (small debris disposal fires normally allowed when following specific rules) are not allowed in Stevens, Ferry and Pend Oreille counties. Written burn permit burning also will no longer be allowed in Stevens, Ferry and Pend Oreille counties.

Rule and written permit burns are still not allowed in Okanogan, Spokane and Lincoln counties, as well as several counties in southwest Washington, with similar restrictions effective in Pacific County on July 9.

Campfires may be allowed in approved designated campgrounds. Always check with local campground hosts before lighting a campfire.
