Medical Lake’s Cory Wagner did his part to get the Community Colleges of Spokane into championship contention at the Northwest Athletic Conference’s baseball tournament in Longview, Wash.
Wagner, a sophomore, threw eight innings, allowing one run in the Sasquatch’s 2-1 loser-out contest win over Lane Community College on May 26. CCS, however, fell to Yakima 5-4 May 27 and were eliminated.
CCS opened the tournament on May 24 with a 4-3 win over Linn Benton on May 24, but lost to eventual champion Lower Columbia the following day.
