Tick time

Logan Lanet carefully studies a tick he captured last Saturday during his visit to the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge's "Floods, Flowers and Feathers Festival." By dragging a large piece of cloth over a patch of grass at the refuge, Lanet caught the tick and with tweezers place it in a vial containing alcohol. Experts say we're in the heart of tick season and to be wary of the critters that like to attach themselves to the scalps of humans and pets, and potentially carry Lyme Disease....
