Cardinal bats power team to wins over Newport, Riverside
Medical Lake softball finished with a flourish and played themselves back into the Northeast A League playoffs.
Following a 2-1 week with wins of 19-0 over Newport and 15-5 over Riverside sandwiched around a 12-8 loss to Freeman, the Cardinals improved to 5-8 in NEA play, 7-10 overall.
With the regular season headed to a little bit of overtime in order to fill in missing games due to postponements, head coach Tim Blakely said it was uncertain exactly who his team may play.
His guess, when the dust settled, was that Medical Lake would play Lakeside or Deer Park, May 10 at the site of the higher...
