Cheney golf takes second at home tournament

At their only home tournament of the season, the Cheney High School girls golf took second as a team on April 24 at the Fairways Golf Course with a score of 182.

West Valley was first with 212 team points and Julia Lupkes from Pullman was first individually with 57.

With using the Stableford scoring system, Katarina Ljubisic and Halle Sargent were the top-finishers for the Blackhawks, tying for fourth overall with a 44.

Other Blackhawks competing were Hannah Lemelin (36), Shelby Draper (36), Amelia Moore (22) and Heather Jones (18).

Cheney is currently third overall in the GNL standings with 454 points. The Blackhawks have one more Great Northern League tournament on May 3 at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course in Pullman.

The first district round takes place on May 7 at the MeadowWood Golf Course. The second round takes place on May 9 at Liberty Lake Golf Course.
