Cheney PEO hosts 'Reciprocity' luncheon

Cheney AJ Chapter PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) hosted an Eastern Washington Reciprocity (EWR) luncheon on March 24 at Cheney Congregational Church, bringing together 10 area chapters from Cheney, Ritzville, Davenport, Harrington, Ephrata and Moses Lake. Chapters met to discuss Cottey College attendees from Washington state, receive news of possible unaffiliates in the area and to share individual chapter information, projects, program offerings and fundraising activities. Linda Early of AJ Chapter presided over the function as "President of Reciprocity."

PEO is an organization where women celebrate the advancement of women, educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College,

and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations. PEO has grown from a tiny membership of seven to almost 235,000 members in over 6,000 chapters in the United States and Canada.

Boxed lunches and raffle baskets (proceeds going to Washington PEO Emergency Assistance Fund) were purchased at Christ Kitchen in Spokane. Kari Kelly, development manager of Christ Kitchen, was the guest speaker, whose program was titled, "Women Helping Women."
