Time, location of Feed Cheney clarified

Thank you so much for your recent article highlighting resources available to Cheney families (“Charitable Confusion,” Cheney Free Press, March 1).

Having served on the community service council for many years as a Cheney School District representative and having worked for nearly eight years with Feed Cheney I know and appreciate the services that both organizations provide. I would, however, like to clarify information on Feed Cheney.

The monthly free dinner and grocery distribution is held at the Wren Pierson Building October through May, not at the United Methodist Church as noted in the article. June, July and August meals are at the Veterans Park across from the Wren Pierson and in September we host the event at Sutton Park.

It is held on the last Monday of the month, except in May when it is the next to the last week because of Memorial Day. The Feed Cheney meal and food distribution begins at 5:30 p.m., not at 5 p.m. as stated in the recent article, and is open to everyone.

As a community we are so fortunate to have these established resources. I believe they compliment one another and, like the article said, fill a definite need in our community.

Carol Kriegh
