Sir Washington throws down a jam in Eastern Washington's game against Southern Utah on March 1.

The pairings have been set for the 2018 Big Sky Conference Tournament, and the Eastern Washington University mens basketball team will open today, (March 8) against either Portland State or Sacramento State.

Riding a league-best six-game winning streak, the Eagles enter the tournament in Reno, Nevada, as the No. 3 seed with an 18-13 record under first-year head coach Shantay Legans. The Eagles will play at 8:05 p.m.

The sixth-seeded Vikings (19-12) and No. 11 seed Sacramento State (7-24) played March 7.

The semifinals and finals take place the next two nights, with the champion receiving a berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Leading the Eagles into the league tournament are fourth-year seniors Bogdan Bliznyuk and Sir Washington, who both played in EWU's 2015 NCAA tournament game against Georgetown.

"It would be great for them to finish their careers in a NCAA Tournament game,' Legans said. "I think we have the opportunity."
