Spring Citizens Academy registration opens

Registration for this spring’s Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy is now open. This academy will focus on officer-involved shooting incidents, how they are investigated and how deputies work to prevent these incidents.

This is also your opportunity to participate in real use of force training scenarios and learn the truth about the laws governing the use of force.

Learn “reality” from the deputies who serve you each and every day and how it differs from what a Hollywood writer portrays in some crime drama.

These free classes start Monday, April 2, and continue for five Mondays from 6 – 9 p.m., ending on April 30.

Classes are held at the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Training Center located at 6011 N. Chase Road in Newman Lake.

To register contact Deputy Chris Johnston at (509) 477-2592 or by email at crjohnston@spokanesheriff.org

Class size is limited so sign up now. For the security of all attendees, a background check will be completed on all applicants. Due to limited seating, please do not register unless you plan to attend all the sessions.
