Heritage Baptist Church

As a church we love to sing songs of the faith. We are a small group who is seeking the truth from God’s word. If you really want to know what God expects from each of us, come Sunday night.

During the month of March, we will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, or the Easter season as the Bible presents it. We will be “Marching forth with the Truth” of the central teaching of Christianity, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and raised from the dead to pay the penalty for our sin. His death and resurrection guarantee our everlasting life. We anticipate your presence with us during this special time of worship.

One of the 20th Century’s greatest evangelists, the Rev. Billy Graham went home to be with his Lord this week. Rejoice with him and pray for his remaining family during this time.

For your contemplation: “’Listen with the heart,’ the rule of benedict says. Listen with feeling and listen with compassion. Listen with values and listen with concern. Listen for the truth of a thing, not for the power of a thing. Obey what makes your heart more human, not necessarily what makes your position more secure. Listen with a critical ear for the sound of the gospel in everything you do, no matter who orders it, no matter how sacred the institution that demands it. Or else the Holocaust. Or else the Inquisition. Or else Watergate and Irangate. Or else power before truth.” – Joan Chittister.

United Methodist Church

Please join us on the third Sunday of Lent at the United Methodist Church this week. Pastor Pat Sleeth will continue the Lenten sermon series based on Rev. There is a weekly soup supper and Lenten study each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the church. This study is also based on the book, “Made for a Miracle.”
