Cheney blood drive April 28

The Inland Northwest Blood Center together with Cheney community volunteers led by coordinator Duane Isaac will hold a blood drive on Friday, Feb. 23, from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Marketplace Bakery & Eatery on First Street in Cheney.

INBC needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. A single donation can save the lives of up to three people.

Cheney book club meets on Tuesday, Feb. 27

The Cheney Friends of the Library book club will meet in the meeting room of the library on Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Please join us for a lively discussion of the book “A Daughter’s Walk” by Jane Kirkpatrick Mary Lou Wade will lead the group.

The last three books for this year’s schedule are available at the front desk of the library. See on Tuesday the 27th of February at the library.

March for Meals helps Cheney seniors

“March for Meals” supports the fight to end senior hunger in Spokane. Greater Spokane Meals on Wheels is sponsoring indoor walkathons at both Northtown and Spokane Valley malls on Thursday, March 1 from 8 – 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded every 10 minutes and trophies will be given to groups and individuals.

Challenge your friends, neighbors and coworkers to walk and raise money to help those in need. Meals on Wheels also provides meals for seniors in Cheney.

Registration is $15, and can be done by calling 924-6976.
