Mollie Louise (Nelson) Jensen

Mollie Louise Jensen passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at the age of 74 after a long struggle with illness.

Mollie was born Jan. 7, 1944 in Pines Bluff, Ark. to Octavia and Carl Nelson. She was raised in Wallace, Idaho and graduated from Wallace High School in 1962. She graduated from Kinman Business College in 1964. She married Richard Jensen on Sept. 4, 1964 in Wallace. The family moved to California where they lived for 50 years or more and now reside in the state of Washington.

She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life as an accountant but her most important role of all was being a mother and grandmother to her surviving children among other family members. She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Phyllis; son, Ricky; granddaughter, Stephanie and grandson Michael, as well as her three nephews, Paul, Craig, Brett and niece, Kristy.

Mollie was an amazing woman and words will never be able to truly capture her essence. A lifetime of giving, loving, and caring will never do her justice. To all who knew and loved her, her death will leave a gaping hole. She was a generous and fun-loving grandmother.

She was always up for an adventure and enjoyed traveling, with many happy times at the lake and taking spontaneous road trips. She touched so many lives. Mollie's most treasured things included her family, her friends and her cat. She was surrounded by friends and family and much love.

Family, friends and others who lives have been impacted and touched by Mollie are invited to join us in celebrating her life at the Cheney Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at Spokane County Fire District No. 3.
