Medical Lake wrestlers battle to the end at Deer Park

Medical Lake wrestling coach Matt Leenhouts boasted that his Cardinals could challenge Northeast A League juggernaut Deer Park for a championship.

If so, there’s still some work to be done after the two teams met in their NEA opener Dec. 7 in Deer Park where the Stags won 45-30.

The Cardinals began the night in a 12-0 hole when Weston Dean at 170 pounds and Caden Boswell (182) scored victories by pins over ML’s Liam Lonam and XX Bridges.

“I think we were a little nervous,” Leenhouts said. “We will get better.”
