EWU hosts Big Sky Conference soccer tourney

After clinching its second Big Sky Conference regular season title, the first since 2004, the Eastern Washington University soccer team has earned the No. 1 seed and will host the BSC Championships at home in Cheney, Wash. The tournament began Nov. 1, with the championship match slated for the Sunday, Nov. 5, at the EWU Soccer Field.

Admission is complimentary for any college student with a valid school ID. Children 12-years-old and under are also free. Tickets cost $5 on Wednesday and Friday and $8 for the Championship match. Cash only.

The Eagles have earned a first-round bye and will play their first match in the semifinals on Friday against No. 4 Portland State or No. 5 Northern Arizona. EWU shutout both programs at home earlier this season.

The quarterfinals begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday between No. 3 Northern Colorado and No. 6 Sacramento State. Game two will take place at 1 p.m. between No. 4 Portland State and No. 5 Northern Arizona. Montana earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye and will take on the winner of game one on Wednesday at 10 a.m. The championship will feature the winners of the semifinal matches. The winner of the championship receives the Big Sky’s automatic invitation to the NCAA College Cup.
