St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside this Sunday.

Our community garden is growing, the vegetables ripening. We look forward to all summer giving its proceeds to the Cheney Food Bank.

Attention all college students: The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry is on break for the summer. ELM will resume meeting every Monday at 5 p.m. for dinner, study and worship come September. For more information contact Soule at (509) 844-2553.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

For your contemplation: “Remember, Christian soul, that thou hast this day, and every day of thy life, God to glorify. Jesus to imitate. A soul to save. A body to mortify. Sins to repent of. Virtues to acquire. Hell to avoid. Heaven to gain. Eternity to prepare for. Time to profit by. Neighbors to edify. The world to despise. Devils to combat. Passions to subdue. Death, perhaps, to suffer. Judgment to undergo,” – Saint Augustine.

United Methodist Church

Please join us as we celebrate songs and stories from Vacation Bible School this Sunday morning at the United Methodist Church. Thank you to all who helped make “Passport to Peru” an amazing week. Pastors Alissa Bertsch Johnson and Pat Sleeth will lead the service along with many VBS participants.

Looking ahead, there will be an all church conference on Aug. 20 immediately after worship to vote on the short term recommendations from the long range plan for the church. Conference handbooks are available now. Please plan to attend and have your voice heard as we look with excitement to the future of our church.

You may call the church office at (509) 235-4600 for additional information and study opportunities.
