St. Paul's Episcopal garden hits second year

For the second year in a row, Cheney's St. Paul's Episcopal Church is doing its share to provide food for people in need through its community garden.

The garden, started last year out of inspiration from several church members and organized by Christie Hoffman, is nearing the harvesting stage for produce ranging from lettuce and egg plant to tomatoes, green beans, onions, carrots and chives.

All are grown in raised beds at the church, located across C Street from Eastern Washington University.

The harvested foods, which will continue through the summer are donated to the Cheney Food Bank...
