Local players head to state
The West Plains Majors All Stars defeated Riverview last Thursday and Friday nights, July 6-7, to win the District 13 championship and secure a trip to the Washington State Little League Tournament at the National Little League Complex in Federal Way, beginning July 15. Pitchers Jakeb Vallance, Jamel Chabot and Tyler Ashcroft led the team in the two-game sweep.
It's the third Majors Division district title for West Plains, and the first since 2013. West Plains plays their first game at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, against the Walla Walla Valley District 5 champions.
West Plains All Star team members are Tyler Ashcroft, Jakeb Vallance, Eli Chabot, Jamel Chabot, Curran Moore, Thomas Rineman, Elijah Aguilera, Kaleb Cain, Syme Singeo, Carter McPherson and Carson Jeffries. The are managed by Josh Ashcroft and assisted by John Vallance and Mike Aguilera.
