Some of the U.S. flags retired by Cheney Boy Scout Troop 356 are shown above. The Scouts held their annual flag retirement ceremony last Wednesday, June 14 - Flag Day - at Veterans Memorial Park. Scoutmaster Ken Johnson said in an email that one flag was from Gonzaga Law School, some from the city, others from local banks and businesses and quite a few from Cheney School District. Flags that need to be retired can be dropped off at the Cheney Police Station at an old mailbox turned into a drop off for retired flags through an Eagle Scout project.
