Basin Feed and Supply moves into former Del's

The former Del's Feed and Farm Supply will soon be home to Basin Feed and Supply.

Unlike some other business frontage that has sat vacant for long periods of time in Cheney, the former Del's Feed and Farm Supply, which closed in April, will soon be back operating.

Basin Feed and Supply, based out of Moses Lake and with an additional store in Kennewick, will be coming to town. The family-owned company will take possession of the property in the coming days.

No firm opening date has been set, but Josh Sidwell, the Kennewick store manager, and son of founder Chase Sidwell, wrote in an email, "There will be a grand opening at some point soon."

"The demographic of the people fits what we do at these stores," Sidwell said of the move to Cheney, a perfect market. It is similar to Moses Lake but smaller, he added. As had been the case with Del's, the new tenants will lease the property.

The company will sell much of what Del's had done before. "Cattle handling and the cattle market is a big industry for us," Sidwell said. So is equine-related products, as well as pet supplies and feed.

"Everything farm and ranch is a good umbrella to put us under," Sidwell said.

"Our father, Kirk (Sidwell) started (the company) in 1980 in Moses Lake and built a new store in the 1990s," Sidwell said. Sidwell's brother Chase runs Moses Lake. The Kennewick store opened in 2000.
