CHS boys tennis goes 1-2 in Great Northern play

Eric Van Wig picked up his first win at No. 1 singles against West Valley's Daan De Noord.

The Cheney High boys' tennis team continued their bumpy road of a season with a 4-3 win against West Valley, May 3, and 6-1 and 7-0 losses to Clarkston the next day.

With their wins against Cheney, the Bantams boosted their Great Northern League record to 8-0 (10-1 overall) and claim the regular season title.

Against West Valley, No. 1 Eric Van Wig rebounded from his loss at Pullman to defeat Daan De Noord (6-4, 6-0) as did No. 2 Hunter Pohl, who picked up a win against Dylan Almedia (6-3, 6-4).
