Cardinal track loses team event, excels with individuals

A pair of league wins eluded Medical Lake as they met Freeman and Chewelah on April 27.

But along with an 80-45 win over Chewelah, what may have been more important for Medical Lake might have been the individual improvements seen by head coach Gene Blankenship. Medical Lake lost a heartbreaker to Freeman, 73-71. The Medical Lake girls also split, losing to Freeman 106-42, but edging Chewelah 71-69.

While Blankenship insists that league meets are not the big picture at the moment, “I sure would have liked to beat Freeman,” he said.
