Timely hits fail to fall for Cardinals' softball

If it isn’t Mother Nature and her meteorological mayhem, then there’s likely a pitcher who can also wreak havoc on the Medical Lake softball team.

That came in the form of Jaelynn Skok from Chewelah who had the right combination of pitches and timely defense to shut down the Cardinals 5-2 in the team’s lone Northeast A League game last week.

“She had us off balance, for sure,” head coach Tim Blakely said. It was a game where, when balls were hit, they went right where they didn’t need to go. Like directly at Skok, or some of her teammates for the Cougars.
