Spots open in Sheriff's Office Citizens Academy

There are still some spots left in the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office free spring Citizens Academy.

The topic for the academy is “Officer Involved Shooting Incidents.”

Residents who attend will learn about why these incidents occur, how officers and deputies are working to prevent them and the laws governing use of force.

Citizens will also have the opportunity to participate in use of force training scenarios.

The class runs weekly from April 3–24, four days total, from 6–9 p.m.

The academy is held at 6011 N. Chase Road in Spokane.
