Eastern Washington University President, Dr. Mary Cullinan, was honored as the Grand Marshal of the 39th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade staged in Spokane, Saturday, March 11. Cullinan described her 100 percent Irish roots that trace back generations to the Emerald Isle. "My grandparents' grandparents made their various ways west to San Francisco (by mule via the Isthmus of Panama or by ship around Cape Horn) as a result of the potato famine in the 1840's," she wrote in an email.
