ML's Care & Share endures tough winter

Like many residents and businesses throughout Spokane County, the Care & Share Thrift Store, had to endure a tough winter.

Anne Starr, who has managed the store, housed in the Dora Burt Center on 211 N. Lefevre St. Medical Lake for 13 years, explained that sales have been down over the last few months partly due to the snow and rain. She said sales usually decline a little bit during the winter months, but this year the store, which typically has an average of 45 customers a day — the business is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays — has seen it drop to about 20.
