The Medical Lake girls earned a 39-30 win over Deer Park Feb. 10 to advance to the District 7 championship. That's where the Cardinals earned a tense 32-30 victory over the Lakeside Eagles Feb. 14 at West Valley High School and qualified for the 1A state tournament for the first time since 1991.
