Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives are conducting a death investigation after the body of a deceased adult female was located in a car in the Walmart parking lot in Airway Heights.
On Dec. 6, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Airway Heights Police Department detectives notified the Sheriff’s Office of a deceased female located inside a vehicle at Walmart.
Sheriff’s Office information indicated the deceased, who has not been positively identified by the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office, may be associated with a recent missing person’s report. The scene was immediately secured and major crimes detectives and forensic personnel were called to the scene.
Detectives were processing the scene and will continue the investigation until the cause and manner of the person’s death is determined. The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the deceased’s name, along with cause and manner of death, when appropriate.
This is an active investigation and no further information was available as of press time.
