Eastern Washington University is first in the nation to employ a facility dog on its police force

Eastern Washington University Police Department's newest officer doesn't carry a gun or drive a patrol car. If she did, that would be a story of epic proportions.

What Officer Hilani does is provide stress relief, mostly by letting people stroke her hair, but only if you ask her partner first.

Hilani is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever-Labrador mix facility dog that came to EWU after a long involved process for her and for her partner, Officer Tiffinni Archie. Hilani is also one of a kind.
